SSH Mining is seeking an experienced Mine Engineers to be part of the onsite team for the Gold Duke Project near Wiluna, WA, owned by Western Gold Resources (WGR). SSH Mining is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all on-site mining activities
This is a FIFO 8:6 roster from Perth, offering the chance to, influence mine design execution, and contribute to a high‑performance culture from day one.
The Role
Are you an experienced Open Pit Mine Production Engineer looking to take ownership of day‑to‑day mining performance on a growing operation? We are seeking a driven and practical engineer to join our site‑based team and play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and cost‑effective production outcomes.
As a Mine Production Engineer, you will work closely with operations, planning, survey, and geology to translate short‑term plans into executable mining activities. This is a hands‑on site role focused on production delivery, continuous improvement, and operational excellence within an open pit environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver daily and weekly mine plans aligned with production targets
- Provide on‑the‑ground technical support to mining operations
- Monitor production performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Optimise drill and blast, load and haul, and pit progression activities
- Ensure designs are practical, safe, and efficiently executed
- Manage reconciliation of planned vs actual production and costs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across mining activities
- Maintain compliance with site safety systems and statutory requirements
About You - Degree qualified in Mining Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in open pit production engineering
- Strong understanding of drill and blast, load and haul operations
- Proven ability to work closely with supervisors and operators
- Confident using mine planning and scheduling software
- Practical, solutions‑focused mindset with strong communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a site‑based environment
