SSH Mining is seeking an experienced Senior and Mine Authorised surveyors to be part of the onsite team for the Gold Duke Project near Wiluna, WA, owned by Western Gold Resources (WGR). SSH Mining is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all on-site mining activities
This is a FIFO 8:6 roster from Perth, offering the chance to shape survey systems, influence mine design execution, and contribute to a high‑performance culture from day one.
  
The Role
As the Authorised Senior Mine Surveyor, you will be responsible for establishing and leading all survey functions across the Greenfields site. This includes statutory compliance, pit development support, and the implementation of best‑practice survey processes tailored to a narrow‑vein gold orebody.
You will work closely with geology, mine planning, and operations to ensure accurate spatial control, efficient ore extraction, and safe mining practices.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all open pit survey activities in accordance with WA statutory requirements.
• Maintain Authorised Mine Surveyor responsibilities under the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations.
• Establish survey systems, standards, and QA/QC processes for a new operation.
• Deliver precise pit designs, dig lines, and ore mark‑ups for a narrow‑vein gold environment.
• Conduct end‑of‑month pickups, volume calculations, and reporting.
• Manage UAV, GPS, and laser scanning technologies.
• Collaborate with mine planning and geology to optimise ore recovery and minimise dilution.
• Mentor junior surveyors and build a high‑performance technical team as the operation grows.

About You

• Authorised Mine Surveyor (WA) or the ability to obtain authorisation.
• Significant experience in open pit mining, ideally with narrow‑vein or structurally complex deposits.
• Experience working with Greenfields site and project set up.
• Strong capability with survey software and hardware (e.g., Leica, Trimble).
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a start‑up or small‑team environment.
• A commitment to safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across departments.
