All round SME Finance Manager role within a small charitable organisation based in Essex.
Broster Buchanan are working exclusively with the Diocese of Brentwood to appoint a Finance Manager based in their central office in Brentwood. A charitable organisation with an annual turnover of over £16million, the organisation has over 80 parishes serving the Catholic population across Essex and East London.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and working in a small head office team, the role will have full responsibility for a variety of bookkeeping activities as well as improving the quality and quantity of financial management information provided to a diverse stakeholder group. Responsibilities will include month end reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, overseeing and improving financial controls and procedures, and managing payroll. Additionally, the role has been created with a view to add further professional support to those managing some of the day to day financial administrative duties across the parishes.
The right candidate for this position will be a part qualified accountant or have an AAT qualification. You will have demonstrable experience in successfully managing similar duties in a comparable role. You must have a strong eye for detail and implementing improvements, and preferably will have a good practical understanding of Excel, Gift Aid, and small company accounting packages. Furthermore, you will ideally have an empathy and understanding of the ethos of the Catholic church and be able to work sensitively with many stakeholders across the Diocese.
This is a full time position paying from £35,000 per annum. It offers the opportunity to work with and learn from a high calibre finance professional and really make a difference.
