Position Available: Pricing Manager
Location: Regina, SK/ Remote work (Canada) is an option
The Pricing Manager is responsible for maintaining and updating pricing information for Masterfeeds products within the assigned region. The Pricing Manager works closely with the Sales, Purchasing, Nutrition, and Finance teams to ensure the accurate and consistent implementation of pricing strategies and policies.
The Pricing Manager provides pricing support and recommendations and generates reports on pricing trends, margins, profitability, customer feedback, issues, and opportunities. This position plays an important role in supporting the company's revenue, margin, profitability, competitiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update pricing databases and systems with accurate information on product costs, discounts, rebates, freight charges, and other pricing factors.
- Monitor and analyze pricing data, market research, competitor activity, customer feedback, and internal reports to identify pricing opportunities and risks.
- Support the Sales team with the implementation of pricing strategies and policies, including feed contract negotiations, while ensuring alignment with company goals and applicable regulations and standards.
- Work closely with Sales, Purchasing, Nutrition, and Finance teams to ensure pricing alignment and consistency across regions and channels.
- Provide pricing guidance, recommendations, and support to internal and external customers as required.
- Generate and distribute pricing reports and dashboards highlighting pricing performance, trends, margins, profitability, issues, and opportunities.
- Evaluate pricing scenarios and use sound judgement and analytical skills to provide solutions that balance company profitability and competitiveness.
- Implement pricing updates, adjustments, exceptions, and approvals in accordance with established pricing guidelines and policies.
- Identify and recommend improvements to pricing processes and systems to improve the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of pricing information.
- Provide informal leadership by mentoring, coaching, or training members of the pricing team on pricing processes, systems, and best practices.
- Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding pricing terms and conditions, quotes, invoices, adjustments, and pricing inquiries.
- Maintain positive and long-term relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Escalate pricing issues and requests that fall outside the established authority or scope to the Director of Pricing.
- Travel occasionally within the assigned region to meet with customers, suppliers, or attend meetings and events.
- Ensure compliance with company health and safety protocols and applicable industry standards.
- Work effectively under tight deadlines, changing priorities, competing demands, and periods of increased market activity.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field is an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pricing, data analysis, finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with pricing software and ERP systems, particularly D365, is an asset.
- Knowledge of the agricultural feed industry and its products and services is an asset.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, customer service, and influencing skills.
- Ability to analyze complex and changing pricing information and make sound business decisions.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Strong judgement and ability to balance profitability, competitiveness, and customer needs.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to occasionally travel within the assigned region.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays when required during peak seasons or periods of high demand.
