We are currently seeking a knowledgeable Beef Field Nutritionist to join our team and focus on the intersection between Nutrition and Sales. This position is based in Stratford ON and will be a combination of on-farm and in office as required.
Key Responsibilities:
As a valued member of our dynamic and engaged beef team, you will collaborate closely with the sales and nutrition teams and producers to provide comprehensive nutrition and technical support, ultimately optimizing beef production and profitability. Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop tailored ruminant feed programs, incorporating the latest research and nutritional principles to enhance feedlot performance.
- Promote and advise on new technologies that improve productivity and profitability for our customers.
- Work directly with farms to assess how changes in rations effect performance on farm.
- Assist with the formulation of premixes manufactured at the Stratford Premix facility.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure long-term business partnerships.
- Identify customer needs and provide appropriate solutions, including technical advice on beef management if needed.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to overall company growth
- Stay up to date with the latest research and advancements in ruminant nutrition, applying these findings to continuously improve our nutrition programs.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and guidelines related to ruminant nutrition.
Qualifications: - A master’s degree in ruminant nutrition, animal science, or a closely related field.
- Practical industry experience is preferred, but not mandatory. This role may be suitable for a recent graduate, looking for their first position in the animal feed industry.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
- A strong understanding of ruminant physiology, metabolism and nutrient requirements.
- Experience with ruminant ration formulation software, such as NDS, AMTS, or equivalent, would be an asset, though training will be provided.
- 3+ years of experience in the beef or agricultural sector is a strong advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to various farm locations as required.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada and have a full driving licence.
