Health Care Assistant – Mobile Clinic
  
Turuki Health Care is a kaupapa Maaori organisation delivering integrated health, wellbeing and social services across Taamaki Makaurau. Our mission is to provide high-quality, accessible and affordable healthcare to whaanau, with a strong focus on equity and culturally responsive care.
  
We are seeking motivated and committed Health Care Assistants to join our Maangere Clinic team. These roles are ideal for individuals passionate about serving Maaori and Pasifika communities and making a meaningful impact in South Auckland.
  
Applicants must be currently residing in Aotearoa, have the legal right to work and have relevant local work experience.
  
Te whiwhinga mahi – The opportunity
  
As a valued member of our mobile and clinical team, you will work alongside GPs, RNs and Administrators to ensure whaanau receive high-quality, culturally safe care. In this role you will help bring accessible health care into the community.
  
This is a full-time position working rostered shifts between 8.00am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting patient triage and monitoring vital signs
• Accurate data entry into Medtech
• Preparing and stocking clinical rooms and triage areas
• Assisting clinical staff with patient care and procedures
• Providing compassionate, whaanau-centred support to patients

Ngaa puukenga me ngaa wheako – Skills and experience
  
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• New Zealand-based work experience (essential)
• Experience in healthcare, community services, or customer-facing roles
• Confidence performing or learning clinical tasks such as blood pressure checks and patient observations
• Experience using Medtech (advantageous)
• A good level of communication skills and the ability to build rapport with Maaori and Pasifika whaanau
• An understanding of tikanga Māori and culturally responsive care
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

The ability to speak Te Reo Maaori or a Pacific language is highly advantageous.
