Te whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity
  
We have a full-time opportunity available for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our School Based Health Team in Maangere, working Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm.

You'll be part of a dedicated team of Health Workers and Nurses who provide health assessments and education to tamariki and their whaanau in schools across South Auckland. Our mahi has a strong focus on rheumatic fever prevention and early intervention for common health conditions. 

Based in schools, you'll also support skin infection and wound care treatment, liaise with whaanau and provide culturally responsive care that empowers tamariki to thrive. 

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with tamariki, values whaanau-centred care and can support and guide others in the team. 
  
Ngaa puukenga me ngaa wheako - Skills and Experience

• Is a Registered Nurse with a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate and relevant indemnity insurance
• holds a valid vaccinator authorisation certificate (preferred)
• has experience working with tamariki or in community health settings
• Can build effective relationships with whaanau, school staff and social service providers
• has a strong understanding of working with whaanau from multicultural backgrounds
• full NZ drivers licence and has reliable transport (petrol reimbursement provided)
• Ability to speak Te Reo Maaori or another language would be an advantage
