Kahu Taurima - Navigator
Turuki Health Care is a kaupapa Māori organisation delivering integrated health, wellbeing and social services across the Tāmaki Makaurau region. We provide quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare and support to whānau.
Te whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Kahu Taurima Navigator to join our South Auckland team. This role offers a unique opportunity to walk alongside māmā, pēpi and their whānau, providing non-clinical, wraparound support in their homes and over the phone.
You’ll help whānau navigate services across health, education, social and wellbeing sectors — complementing care plans already in place with LMCs, GPs and others involved in whānau care. Your mahi will support whānau throughout their journey, including those transitioning out of Ngā Hau care (6 weeks postnatal and beyond).
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako – What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone with a heart for people, strong community connections, and the ability to navigate complex systems.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in social work, community support, whānau navigation, or similar mahi
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (desirable), with at least one year of experience post-study
- A good understanding of how to work across health and social agencies
- A commitment to whānau-centred approaches, grounded in Te Ao Māori and Kaupapa Māori values
- Confidence in engaging with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Strong skills in communication, planning, and working as part of a team
- A full NZ Driver Licence and a clean criminal record
- The ability to speak Te Reo Māori is an advantage
We offer: - Free GP consultations when you sign up with Turuki Health Care as your medical clinic
- Access to various internal workshops and ongoing professional development opportunities
- The opportunity to attend staff wānanga
