Turuki Health Care is a kaupapa Maaori organisation delivering integrated health, wellbeing and social services across the Taamaki Makaurau region. Our focus is on delivering accessible, quality and affordable healthcare and support to whaanau.
 
Te whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity
  
Poipoia Te Mokopuna service focuses on supporting whaanau with tamariki under three years of age.  We support early learning journeys, strengthen development, and help prepare tamariki for future learning – all in ways that align whaanau aspirations, culture and identity.
  
We are seeking a passionate, caring and whaanau-focused employee who enjoys walking alongside whaanau, support confident early learning journeys for tamariki aged 0-3 years.
  
This is a community-based role, offering variety, and the chance to make a meaningful impact where it matters most. Flexibility in hours may be required to meet whaanau needs.
  
Ngaa haepapa matua me ngaa mahi – Key Responsibilities and Functions 

• Support parents and caregivers to make confident, informed decisions about their children's development
• Encourage and build whaanau confidence to lead learning at home
• Plan and deliver free, engaging, play-based learning experiences
• Conduct regular home visits and facilitate group-based activities
• Building strong, positive relationships with ECE providers and community services
• Promote Turuki services and contribute to positive community awareness
• Contributing to a positive team culture and continuous improvement
• Demonstrating manaakitanga in all that you do  

  Ngaa puukenga me ngaa wheako – Skills and Experience 

• Experience in early childhood education, early learning or child development
• A genuine passion for working alongside whaanau in community settings
• Experience facilitating playgroups, workshops or whaanau-based activities
• Confidence and ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Full New Zealand drivers’ licence
• Flexibility to work outside standard hours when needed
• Knowledge of Te Reo Maaori me oona tikanga, or a willingness to learn
• New Zealand residency or a current, valid New Zealand work visa with no restrictions
