Tagata Moana Maternity Trust and Turuki Health Care have partnered to provide maternity and primary birthing services at Ngā Hau Māngere Birthing Centre.
Tagata Moana Maternity Trust provides the management of Ngā Hau Māngere, delivering maternity care that wraps around hapū māmā and pēpi, supporting whānau to thrive during their sacred journey of the childbirth continuum.
Turuki Health care is a Kaupapa Māori organisation delivering integrated health, wellbeing and social services across Tāmaki Makurau. We provide quality, accessible and affordable healthcare and support to whānau.
Together, we are committed to high-quality, clinically and culturally safe care for Māori and Pasifika families and the wider South and Central Auckland community.
Te whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity
We are seeking passionate and experienced Registered Core Midwives to join the team at Ngā Hau.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide midwifery care within a whānau-centred, midwifery-led environment.
As a core midwife you will be employed to work rostered shifts at Ngā Hau - providing safe quality care to all māmā, pēpi and whānau who birth or use our services.
Working across the midwifery scope of practice by:
- Supporting whānau throughout the childbearing experience – pregnancy, intrapartum and postnatally.
- Ensuring a welcoming, culturally and clinically competent experience.
- Contributing to continuous quality improvement and a supportive workplace culture.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako – Skills and Experience We are looking for midwives with:
- A current annual practising certificate issued by the Midwifery Council of New Zealand.
- Ideally 2+ years’ experience preferred and who are confident and competent in a primary birthing setting. We welcome all enquiries.
- Strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity of care.
- Clear communication skills and good at relationship-building with whānau and colleagues.
- An ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- A passion for improving outcomes for māmā Māori, Pasifika, whaikaha and their whānau.
- A full NZ driver’s licence and permanent residency or NZ citizenship.
