Breastfeeding Advocate
Turuki Health Care is a kaupapa Māori organisation delivering integrated Health and Social Services across Tāmaki Makaurau. We provide quality, accessible and affordable health care and support to whānau.
Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity:
Working within our highly skilled B4Baby team, you will support new māmā throughout their pregnancy and breastfeeding journey. Our service is free for new māmā and is community-based. You will conduct home visits across the Central and South Auckland area, as well as inviting whānau into our clinic/ office for extra support. You will work closely with māmā from the time they find out they are pregnant (and engage with our service) until baby is 6 months old to ensure they are educated and nurtured during these special moments.
This role is a great opportunity for someone passionate about breastfeeding support – whether you are an experienced Breastfeeding Advocate or a Qualified Lactation Consultant. You will work alongside our in-house Lactation Consultant and Breastfeeding Advocates together to ensure māmā and pēpi receive the very best guidance and care.
The hours for this role are 8.30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, based in Māngere. This position would suit someone with a background in prenatal and antenatal support, someone that has worked closely with whānau in the community or even a māmā that feels they may be able to help as they know the struggles that can arise with new pēpi.
