Te whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Social worker to join our team at Start Well Māngere, working as part of a dynamic and passionate multi-disciplinary team to support young families. We are looking for someone with passion, enthusiasm, and drive, who is comfortable in uncomfortable places and spaces. Someone who is calm, resilient, and insightful. This role seeks to enrich and support the lives and aspirations of the whānau we work alongside. This is a part-time role based in central Māngere.

Start Well support hapu māmā, pāpā, and their whānau in long term relationship-based care; journeying together to hear what matters and planning together, providing intensive home visiting and community support, while developing new ways of being so rangatahi and their whānau can thrive.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako – Skills and Experience 

• Be a registered Social Worker and have a current Annual Practising Certificate
• 5+ years of Social Work experience. Specifically working with whānau who face social complexities
• Prior experience working in the child protection, family violence and behaviours that accompany toxic stressors space
• Have experience working alongside whānau with a multicultural background
• Ability to speak Te Reo Maori or another language would be an advantage
• A full NZ Drivers Licence
