About your new role We are now seeking a
Maintenance Painter to join our team at UniLodge in Christchurch. This role is crucial in ensuring our student accommodation buildings remain well-maintained, aesthetically appealing, and fit for purpose.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your primary responsibility will be painting and touch-ups across our student accommodation, as well as capital improvement projects.
This is a part-time role, working Monday to Friday, with flexible schedule.
Day-to-day duties - Painting and touch-ups on interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes.
- Surface preparation, including plastering, sanding, and minor repairs.
- Identifying and reporting areas requiring maintenance or repainting.
- Assisting with general maintenance tasks such as plastering, and property upkeep.
- Ensuring painting materials and equipment are maintained and stored properly.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations and ensuring a safe working environment.
What you’ll need to succeed - Proven experience as a painter, ideally in a residential or commercial setting.
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to perform minor repairs and surface preparation.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to assist with other maintenance tasks as required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks.
- Ability to provide evidence of a New Zealand Police Vetting.
