The Role - Maintenance Coordinator
In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of facilities and building maintenance services for The University of Sydney ensuring compliance with all codes and regulations, meeting service requirements, and facilitating a safe and secure work environment for all building occupants and visitors.
Key Duties will include:
Maintain terraces and gardens to uphold a polished, attractive appearance at all times
Be responsible for the general maintenance and minor repairs for the kitchens used in the common areas and for the BBQ, the iron facilities, and lights throughout the building
Perform general maintenance repairs and cleaning services
Set up processes for preventive maintenance, covering supplier selection and support, within budget and management guidelines.
Complete routine daily assessments of plant equipment, common facilities, and property needs.
Work within and maintain procedures and standards for all operational areas to maximise efficiency of resources
Follow established health and safety procedures, meeting both company standards and legal obligations.
About You
Previous experience in student accommodation or hospitality environments
Trade qualification (highly regarded)
Confident computer skills including ability to use various systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
You will have a 'safety first' mindset, and an understanding of basic OH&S principles and chemical handling
Flexible working style, and happy to work both independently as well as part of a team
Ability to establish good working relations with staff, residents, contractors, etc.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Unrestricted work rights in Australia
National Police Check (completed within last 3 months), at your own cost
Working with Children’s Check (NSW)
Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
Able to commit to 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday roster
