Step into a fast-paced, vibrant environment as a General Manager based at UniLodge Melbourne Central. You will join an industry market leader in student accommodation and shall contribute to achieving our vision, “To build inclusive communities for inspired living”.
We’re on the lookout for an experienced senior operations manager who will lead a small frontline operations team to achieve excellence and deliver outstanding experiences for our student residents and visitors. Your ability to lead and motivate a team, implement strategic plans, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders will be vital to the success of our operation. Your leadership skills will help to support the growth and ongoing development of your team, and will empower them to champion fostering a safe, secure, and healthy living environment for all students.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Your responsibilities as General Manager will include but not be limited to:
- Ensure student wellbeing is prioritised at all times
- Be thoroughly familiar with our Operating Agreements and to manage the property as per the management agreement and all associated Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Establish and maintain constructive and productive working relationships with the client, head office, operations team, student residents and other relevant stakeholders.
- Manage and optimise the financial return, and the overall financial performance of the property as outlined in the Financial Model/Budget
- Maintain the property to the highest level of cleanliness and presentation as would be expected of a professional property management company
- Pro-actively maintain the building’s fit-out and the standard of its equipment
- Provide overall leadership, guidance, and direction to develop a team of high performing staff
- In the absence of the General Manager Portfolio act as their delegate
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: - Must hold a valid VIC Agent’s Representative Certificate (minimum)
- Experience in the Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) sector
- Strong knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with staff, owners, residents, and contractors
- National Police Check (completed within last 3 months), at your own cost
- State Working with Children’s Check, at your own cost
- Unrestricted work rights in Australia
