The Role - Community Support Officer: We are on the look out for an individual to join our after hours operations team on a full time basis in Canberra. Resident safety is a top priority for our frontline operations teams. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of residents and overall management and responsibility of the building during the overnight hours.
In your role, you will gain exposure to a range of tasks and responsibilities including:
- Monitoring building security and safety; performing perimeter checks and resolving issues or emergencies that arise while on duty.
- Carrying out administration tasks including maintaining records, processing payments, audit, reporting, etc.
- Effective incident management during night shift, including grievances and conflict resolution.
- Act as a support to the residents to form a friendly and open point of contact for assistance, information, and welfare.
- Respond to residents calls about noise or disturbances within the building, and lock outs.
- Attend appropriate training and mandatory staff meetings when required.

We are seeking someone with availability to work across a Monday to Sunday evening/overnight roster (38 hours per week). Shift times will be:
11:59pm - 8:05am. This role will require you to work if your regular shift falls on a Public Holiday. Shutdown period will apply to this role for approximately 2-3 weeks during University Summer break. During the shutdown period, Community Support Officers may be required to take leave due to reduced hours.
Our mandatory requirements include:
- National Police Check (completed within last 3 months)
- Working with Vulnerable People's Check
- Valid work rights in Australia
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
