Due to internal promotion, we have an exciting senior operations manager position based in Darwin, NT. In your new role as General Manager, you will lead a small frontline operations team to achieve excellence and deliver outstanding experiences for our student residents and visitors. Your ability to lead and motivate a team, implement strategic plans, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders will be vital to the success of our operation. Your leadership skills will help to support the growth and ongoing development of your team, and will empower them to champion fostering a safe, secure, and healthy living environment for all students. More specifically you will:
Ensure student wellbeing is prioritised at all times
Be thoroughly familiar with our Operating Agreements and to manage the property as per the management agreement and all associated Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Establish and maintain constructive and productive working relationships with the client, head office, operations team, student residents and other relevant stakeholders.
Manage and optimise the financial return, and the overall financial performance of the property as outlined in the Financial Model/Budget
Maintain the property to the highest level of cleanliness and presentation as would be expected of a professional property management company
Pro-actively maintain the building’s fit-out and the standard of its equipment
Provide overall leadership, guidance, and direction to develop a team of high performing staff
What we’re looking for
Experience in the Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) sector – hospitality industry experience is beneficial
Strong knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act
Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team
Effective verbal and written communication skills with staff, owners, residents, and contractors
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate, or willing to obtain
National Police Check (completed within last 3 months), at your own cost
Working with children clearance (Ochre Card), at your own cost
Full work rights in Australia
