About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Building Maintenance Manager to join our team at UniLodge Edith Cowan University. In this hands-on role, you'll lead all aspects of building maintenance, ensuring a safe, well-maintained, and exceptional living environment for our residents. With a strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational excellence, you'll oversee preventative maintenance programs, manage contractors, and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day success of the property.
Some of the responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Oversee maintenance across apartments, common areas, and external building areas, ensuring high standards of safety and presentation.
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs, while effectively coordinating suppliers and budgets.
- Manage contractors to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and provide regular updates and reports to the General Manager.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant legislation, safety requirements, and company policies.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Plumbing, or a related field (highly desirable).
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to confidently engage with contractors and stakeholders.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a commitment to safety, quality, and delivering outstanding results.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and solve problems effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- Current National Police Check
