As the Community Support Officer – Team Leader (After Hours), you will step into a dynamic, hands-on leadership role where no two shifts are the same. You’ll lead and support the Community Support Officer (CSO) team on shift while remaining actively involved on the floor, delivering frontline support within your allocated residence. This role is ideal for a confident, calm, and service-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to take the next step in an operational leadership career.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide on-shift leadership, guidance, and task management for smooth operations across all residences.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment by responding to incidents, emergencies, lockouts, and evacuations.
- Manage and prioritise after-hours incidents, liaising with emergency services and university stakeholders.
- Conduct building checks, monitor WHS and security risks, and manage access, maintenance, and facilities.
- Mentor CSOs through coaching, training, and feedback to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
To be successful in this role, you will have: - Unrestricted work rights in Australia
- A valid National Police Check & Working with Vulnerable People’s check (or be willing to obtain)
- Prior experience in frontline operations or student/residential support roles, with a focus on wellbeing, safety, or security
- Demonstrated leadership experience & ability to guide, mentor and motivate a team on-shift.
- Organised and detail-oriented, with experience managing operational or administrative tasks
- Flexible and reliable, able to work after-hours, weekends, and public holidays.
