WHO YOU ARE Our ideal candidate will possess a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to be a part of our fun team. Ideally you will have similar experience within student accommodation or hospitality industry. You will have a 'safety first' mindset, and an understanding of basic OH&S principles and chemical handling.
Our Maintenance Coordinators are a ‘Jack of All Trades’, who are willing to flexible in their working style, and happy to work both independently as well as part of a team. This role will keep you busy, whilst offering variety in duties day-to-day. You could be tasked with completing general repairs such as plumbing, light bulb changes, painting, plastering and carpentry, or may be required to carry out general investigative work to ascertain potential issues. You will need to have the physical ability to carry out your duties; and able to establish good working relations with contractors. Communication skills are key in this role as our staff and residents come from diverse backgrounds.
The successful applicant will be available to commit to a 38 hour work week, Monday to Sunday roster between 7am to 11pm.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Your responsibilities as Maintenance Coordinator will include but not be limited to:
- Effectively and efficiently carry out maintenance of the student apartments, common areas and building exterior
- Complete a daily check of plant equipment, common facilities and property specific requirements
- Work within and maintain procedures and standards for all operational areas to maximise efficiency of resources
- Maintain the highest level of maintenance, safety and security at all times
- Operate within agreed company health and safety procedures. Follow industry and statutory regulations at all times
- Provide assistance in a professional and efficient matter to residents
- Keep the Manager up to date on the progress of works being carried out
- Be responsible for the general maintenance and minor repairs for the kitchens used in the common areas and for the BBQ, the iron facilities, and lights throughout the building.
- Maintain the maintenance workshop in good order, tidy up daily and properly store stock in the lock up cupboards.
- Respond on the 2-way radios for any urgent repairs or issues required by the Customer Service Desk or the Management office.
Our mandatory requirements include:
- Valid Working Rights in Australia and New Zealand
- National Police Check
- Working with Children Check (NSW)
- Valid Australian Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle
