An independent communications & networking consultancy in the Auckland Airport precinct area are seeking an experienced and driven ICT Operations Manager (permanent full time) to oversee the day-to-day delivery of the technical services across Auckland, with a particular focus on work around Auckland Airport. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is critical to ensuring operational excellence, staff productivity, and high-quality outcomes for our clients.
You'll lead a team of Project Managers, and 20+ Technicians/subcontractors on the tools, ensuring all projects and maintenance contracts are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role combines people leadership with operational oversight, requiring excellent communication skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to balance priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:Lead, coach, and support Project Managers, Site Foreman, and Technicians to
achieve operational and financial targets.
Oversee the daily delivery of projects and contracts, ensuring efficiency, quality,
and safety standards.
Monitor KPIs for staff performance, project profitability, and service delivery.
Partner with the Managing Director to refine processes, and resource planning.
Drive compliance with Health & Safety regulations, client requirements, and company policies.
Ensure documentation, reporting, and asset management systems (e.g. SharePoint, Fergus, AssetGen) are accurate and effectively used.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of technical staff.
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiency gains, and stronger staff engagement.
Job Requirements: Essential: Minimum 5 years' experience in operations management, service delivery, or project management within ICT, telecommunications, electrical, or construction industries.
Proven track record managing field operations and multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong leadership and coordination skills with a calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure.
Solid understanding of structured cabling, fibre, site logistics, and technical job planning.
Strong financial and commercial acumen (budgeting, cost control, profitability tracking).
Experience using job management systems (Fergus) and collaboration tools (e.g. Microsoft 365, SharePoint).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:Experience managing contracts in complex environments (airports, campuses, healthcare, or similar).
Relevant industry certifications (BICSI, PMP, Prince2, or similar).
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety obligations in New Zealand.
Expected Attendance: Monday - Friday, approx. 45-50 hrs per week. Expected start time between 6am and 7am and finish 3:30 - 4:30pm.
Pay Details :$120k - $140k depending on applicant
