The opportunity:
We are looking for someone who can provide HR advisory and compliance support to our Operational teams across Australia, with potential to support with HR issues in New Zealand and Canada as well. The role will also be responsible for supporting with the design and delivery of a wide variety of people initiatives. The role can be based out of Brisbane or Sydney and will report into the Head of HR based in Brisbane.

The core responsibilities of the position will be:

• Advise on employment legislation, including award and NES based team members, for existing operations and when the business is exploring new operations
• Provide performance management advice & coordinate misconduct investigations
• Contribute to and eventually lead smaller people initiatives and projects
• Support the coordination of remuneration review & bonuses
• Support, advise on and ensure the accurate agreements and system updates are in place for all people movements
• Complete monthly and ad-hoc reporting as requested on key people data
• Coordinate the Reward & Recognition program
• Conduct or support with internal and external audits/governance initiatives
• Conduct monthly site visits (including interstate on occasion), as well as being willing to do some hands-on learning with how our operations work

The person we are looking for:

• Ideally 2 years experience as a HR Advisor or similar, with a good understanding of Australian employment legislation and modern awards and a diligent approach to compliance
• The ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in uncomfortable or complex people situations
• Organised and able to manage their own time effectively
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• A growth mindset and a willingness to learn
• Kind, patient and a non-judgmental approach to people
