The Wilner Group has partnered with our client a high-growth design-build commercial general contractor based in Wilmington, NC, serving Eastern North Carolina and South Carolina. They specialize in $1-25Mcommercial projects and are on a clear path from $32M (2025) to $100M by 2028. Together we are searching for a Business Development Specialist to join their team at their Wilmington, NC location.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and qualify design-build and design-assist opportunities ($1–20M) in eastern NC/SC.
• Prospect and engage with commercial listings, buyers, sellers, and agents.
• Build and strengthen relationships with architects, engineers, and developers.
• Attend company meetings, submitting boards, and planning boards to gather early project insights.
• Lead the full sales cycle from initial contact through contract execution.
• Manage pipeline activities and forecasting in HubSpot CRM.
• Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams on proposals and RFPs.
• Present proposals and represent the company at industry events.
• Provide weekly pipeline updates and quarterly forecasts to the CEO.

Requirements:

• 5+ years in commercial construction business development with a proven record ($10M+ closed annually).
• Strong network across the Eastern NC/SC construction and real estate markets.
• Experience in design-build project delivery.
• Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Compensation: $95k -$110k
