The Wilner Group has partnered with our client, a leading importer of fresh fruit from around the globe. With a focus on delivering the finest imported products to the United States and Canada, they are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team at their Port Washington, NY location.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the Accounts Receivable function, including invoicing, collections, reconciliations, and cash application.
• Work closely with sales and customer service teams to resolve payment discrepancies and unexpected deductions or chargebacks.
• Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up with customers to ensure timely payment.
• Identify and correct discrepancies in customer accounts and billing issues.
• Prepare and maintain accurate aging reports, customer statements, and financial records.
• Participate in weekly Finance meetings to provide updates and support cross-functional initiatives.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to streamline receivables processes and improve cash flow.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of Accounts Receivable experience.
• Industry experience in distribution, fresh produce, or food strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred, not required).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Team player with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to learn and adapt to custom internal/external software portals.

Compensation: $75k – $95k annually, based on experience.
