This is a high-impact leadership role within our Security & Risk practice, offering the opportunity to influence and drive transformation across global organizations.
  
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Mainframe Security Consultant to lead and deliver robust security, compliance, and risk management initiatives. You will be responsible for the assessment, design, development, and implementation of end-to-end mainframe security solutions, working across IBM z/OS platforms and RACF, ACF2, and Top Secret (TSS) environments.
You will collaborate closely with C-level stakeholders, security architects, and technical teams, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards such as GDPR, DORA, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOX. Your expertise will help our clients modernize and secure legacy infrastructure, especially in the context of mainframe migrations and integrations with next-gen IAM platforms.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of mainframe security projects across diverse client environments
• Design and implement security architectures for IBM z/OS, RACF, ACF2, and TSS
• Provide subject matter expertise on mainframe compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements
• Support mainframe migration and modernization initiatives, including tooling and risk mitigation
• Advise clients on cryptographic strategies, key management, and encryption standards
• Oversee security configuration across core z/OS components including CICS, DB2, MQ, and USS
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mainframe logs with SIEM platforms
• Engage with senior stakeholders to align security roadmaps with broader business goals
• Mentor and lead internal teams, contributing to thought leadership and capability development

  
Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in mainframe security, access control, and risk management
• Deep expertise in IBM RACF, CA ACF2, and/or CA Top Secret
• Proven experience leading complex security programs for enterprise mainframe environments
• In-depth knowledge of IBM z/OS platform security, including associated subsystems
• Strong understanding of encryption, cryptographic key management, and security tooling (e.g., zSecure, Vanguard)
• Familiarity with global compliance standards (SOX, PCI-DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST)
• Demonstrated leadership in team management and client delivery
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including executive-level presence

  
Preferred Skills

• Experience with real-time security monitoring and SIEM integration for mainframe logs
• Knowledge of IAM and PAM integration for mainframe, including platforms like SailPoint, CyberArk, Okta
• Certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator – Security for z/OS, CISSP, CISM, CRISC
