We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accounting Team Leader to join our SCCQ family. Reporting to the Head of Finance – Reporting & Compliance, as the Financial Accounting Team Leader you will be responsible for preparing the statutory, regulatory compliance obligations along with management of the Financial Accounting team.

About the role
As the Financial Accounting Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in our organisation. You will lead our Financial Accounting team, ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity and compliance.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leadership:
- Manage the Financial Accounting team
- Provide mentoring, development, and training for your team
- Ensure positive team morale and cohesiveness by promoting innovation and team engagement
- Promote cross-collaboration with the wider business to pursue our vision, mission, and values
Reporting:
- Prepare EOM & EOY Financial Accounting and reporting
- Coordinate the external audit process
- Prepare taxation and regulatory compliance and timely submissions
- Prepare lodgments of Grant acquittals
- Ensure accuracy of Assets and Liabilities, including maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
- Maintain integrity of the General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations in accordance with AASB Standards
Financial Compliance:
- Ensure compliance and assurance of Financial Accounting internal controls, policies, processes, and legislative obligations
- Maintain financial accounting policies and procedures
Continuous Improvement:
- Apply continuous improvement methodology to processes and procedures to support an understanding of the business and an accurate view of performance
- Efficient delivery and continuous improvement of EOM accounting and reporting
- Participate in the development, deployment, and continuous progress of business performance reports and framework as required
What will you bring to the role? - Qualified CA/CPA with professional accounting body or equivalent
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
- Ability to manage tasks and the team to achieve agreed outcomes and timeframes
- Detailed knowledge of accounting principles and processes
- Strong technical skills and a passion for thinking outside the box
- Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Statutory and EOM reporting experience with ability to communicate financial data and results effectively
- Residential Aged Care experience and knowledge of the legislation
- High level of competency with Microsoft Office suite of products
- Previous experience with Epicor software preferred
