Southern Cross Care QLD currently have an opportunity for you to join our SCCQ family as a casual Aged Care Worker in the role of a Domestic/Catering Assistant at our Stretton Gardens Residential Aged Care Home in Drewvale.

What are the key responsibilities?
As a Domestic/Catering assistant we are seeking someone who is able to assist in preparation of meals at the highest standard in food handling and meal preparation for our residents while embodying our values to meet our mission to support people in their choice of health, wellbeing and lifestyle, and our vision to value and respect human life. You will work as part of a team to prepare and deliver nutritious meals for our residents in accordance with the requirements of the Food Safety Program.
Duties may include but not be limited to:
- Food handling and preparation
- Cooking and presentation of food and ensuring on time delivery of quality meals
- Kitchen cleaning and Maintenance
- Basic record keeping (e.g. number of meals per day, missed meals) in consultation with the Chief Cook.
- Stock control, ordering (eg food, cleaning products), receiving, checking, weighing and storing
- Complying with Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times
What will you bring to the role?
- You will demonstrate compassion, sensitivity and maturity to provide high quality meals
- Attention to detail and ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
- Experience working in commercial kitchen
- Good knowledge of food safety (preferable HACCP)
- Must be flexible with start time and days (including weekends).
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and to manage your time effectively
