Southern Cross Care Queensland has an exciting opportunity for a limited-term full-time People & Culture Senior Business Partner to join the team based at our Support Centre, conveniently located in Upper Mt Gravatt.

About the role

Working in this role of a Senior People & Culture Business Partner, you will be providing comprehensive support to the business and its leaders in the delivery of a range of Human Resources and Industrial Relations advice and services in your region. This position delivers people initiatives and programs developed to support delivery of organisational and business unit strategy for our Broken Hill/Mildura region as well as SCCQ's Duhig Village in Holland Park.

Key accountabilities of the role would include:

• Partnering with business leaders and team members to provide day to day HR/IR advice and interpretation of HR policies, processes and procedures.
• Managing end-to-end employee relations/industrial relations matters, including undertaking workplace investigations, performance management, disciplinary procedures and attendance at the Fair Work Commission if required.
• Coaching and supporting business leaders on complex IR matters, whilst actively mitigating workplace relations exposure.
• Playing a key role in identifying, developing and implementing key People & Culture projects and initiatives relevant to the industrial relations landscape.
• Maintaining a sound understanding of industrial relations instruments including Awards and Enterprise Agreements and coach business leaders regarding the application of same.
• Coaching and upskilling leadership to manage performance.
• Championing organisational initiatives, analysing change impacts and plan/deliver change through development of detailed change plans for implementation.
• Understanding engagement levels across business areas and work with business leaders to develop targeted strategies to uplift engagement and improve culture.
• Embedding values and positive behaviours across business areas.
• Producing and maintaining a range of HR processes and documentation including letters relating to employment, policies, guides, procedures, reports and other workforce related documentation.
• Ensuring HR processes, documentation and solutions are legislatively compliant, fit for purpose and cost effective.
• Monitoring and responding to People & Mission queries in an appropriate and timely manner, escalating/delegating where appropriate.

What will you bring to the role? 

• Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related discipline
• Experience in business partnering to provide advice and support focused on achieving organisational strategy and outcomes consistent with organisation values, policies and procedures.
• Strong experience in the resolution of employee relations / industrial relations matters including undertaking workplace investigations, performance management and disciplinary procedures.
• Good understanding of industrial relations instruments including Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
• Experience in using valid, reliable and sufficient information to make decisions regarding complex HR/IR issues.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
• High level of confidentiality and integrity.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office preferred.
