Southern Cross Care Queensland has an exciting opportunity for a casual Aged Care Registered Nurse to join the clinical teams working across our two Residential Aged Care Homes in the charming township of Allora. Nestled in the picturesque Darling Downs region of Queensland, Allora offers the perfect balance of country living with convenient access to larger regional centres—just 20 minutes north of Warwick and less than an hour from Toowoomba.

About the role

As a Registered Nurse with Southern Cross Care Queensland, you will join a highly skilled and compassionate team dedicated to delivering exceptional, person-centred care to our residents. Working under the leadership of an experienced Clinical Manager, you will provide advanced clinical and holistic care while supporting residents to achieve the best possible quality of life.

You will provide guidance, support and supervision to your team members, fostering a collaborative approach to delivering high-quality care. Working closely with medical practitioners, residents, families and the broader multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure the delivery of safe, personalised and evidence-based care.

Above all, you will combine your clinical expertise with genuine compassion and empathy, building meaningful relationships with residents founded on dignity, respect and trust, while making a positive difference in their everyday lives.


What will you bring to the role?

• You will be an RN with a current AHPRA registration
• You will have a strong clinical focus with the ability to provide a high level of holistic support that best suits the individual
• Knowledge of chronic conditions, palliative and dementia care (desired)
• You are dedicated to caring for older people to live their best lives
• You enjoy working in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and outstanding communication skills
• Ability to work night shifts (desirable)

Who is Southern Cross Care? 

Southern Cross Care (SCC) is a Catholic not-for-profit organisation established by the Knights of the Southern Cross, more than 40 years ago. They saw a need to provide compassionate care and inclusive service to some of the most vulnerable, the ageing population, in the community.

Since then, SCC has grown to employ over 1700 staff caring for and supporting more than 2000 people across 17 residential aged care homes, 8 retirement villages, 28 social houses, the National Disability and Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and home care services in metropolitan and regional Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
