About the role
As our
Housekeeping Team Leader at
Southern Cross Care Queensland – Edens Landing, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the highest standard of cleanliness across the home (internally and externally) while
leading, mentoring and supporting a dedicated housekeeping and laundry team.
Working closely with the
Residential Manager, you will coordinate daily operations, set clear priorities, and ensure cleaning and laundry services are delivered
safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
You’ll lead by example on quality, compliance and customer service, and take pride in creating a welcoming environment where residents can live their best lives. You will also oversee laundry operations in line with SCCQ laundry guidelines and standard operating procedures, support team members with technical issues, and conduct regular checks/inspections to ensure work meets required standards.
What will you bring to the role? - Experience in commercial cleaning (desirable) and/or leading a cleaning team.
- Experience in aged care, health, or a similar environment (desirable).
- Ability to plan, supervise and coordinate staff to meet operational requirements.
- Strong time, task and priority management skills.
- Confidence to assess and action daily work requests/work orders.
- Great communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.
- Capability to train team members in safe chemical handling, equipment uses, and PPE requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to maintain accurate records (training, attendance, ordering, service calls, etc.).
- A practical, solutions-focused approach with good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- A genuine commitment to creating safe, clean spaces for older people to live their best lives.
