We are seeking a part-time Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator to support our Residential Aged Care Homes in Broken Hill and Mildura. Working in this role you will proactively case manage individual workplace rehabilitation programs for ill and injured employees to facilitate safe, timely and durable return to work. This role offers you flexible work arrangements, with opportunity to work from your own home office.

About the roleThe Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator manages individual workplace rehabilitation programs for ill and injured employees using a proactive case management approach to facilitate a safe, timely and durable return to work.
Reporting to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager, you will undertake efficient claims and injury case management of employees with workers compensation injuries to ensure effective injury management and legislative compliance. Essential to your role is the ability to work simultaneously with relevant stakeholders including injured employee, treating health professionals, Work Cover and SCCQ Managers to achieve desired return to work outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to be a part of a supportive People and Culture Team and facilitate efficient procedures and best practices to support effective return to work for our valued employees. Irregular travel to sites may be required at times.
What are the key responsibilities? - Facilitate proactive early intervention and efficient claims and injury case management of workers compensation injuries to ensure effective injury management and legislative compliance from report to claim closure
- Work collaboratively with the relevant stakeholders (injured employee, treating health professionals, the insurer/s, SCCQ managers) to achieve desired RTW outcomes and resolution of workers compensation claims, ensuring responsible financial claims management.
- Prompt development of quality rehabilitation and return to work plans in consultation with key stakeholders (including treating practitioners) to ensure a safe, timely and durable return to work of injured employees.
- Ensure set timeframes and compliance measures are adhered to in line with all legislative and SCCQ policies and procedures.
- Participate in claims reviews and case conferences as appropriate.
- Provide support and guidance to managers in injury management. Provide input into development of procedures and practices that support proactive and effective return to work.
- Maintain case files and caseload statistics to ensure appropriate and accurate records and comply with confidentiality and privacy requirements in accordance with legislation and SCCQ policy.
- Accurately complete administrative tasks associated with injury management and workers compensation, including preparing compensation payment notifications, managing
reimbursements of compensation payments to ensure timely recovery from insurer and ensuring prompt submission and follow-up with the insurer to secure prompt reimbursements.
What will you bring to the role? - Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator training that meets New South Wales and Victoria's jurisdiction accreditation requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Workers Compensation legislation in NSW and Victoria.
- Previous experience in Claims and Injury Management associated with physical and psychological injuries/illness.
- Demonstrated experience driving effective claims management and partnering relevant insurers, brokers and relevant stakeholders to drive effective claims management.
- Strong written and verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Developed time management skills with the ability to work autonomously in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability in problem solving, safety decision making, critical thinking
- Work experience in the aged care, disability or health sectors and knowledge of accreditation principles and aged care standards is desirable
