Southern Cross Care QLD have an opportunity for a casual Bus Driver to join our SCCQ family at Illoura Village Residential Aged Care in Chinchilla and facilitate resident outings across Southern Cross Care Queensland homes in the Western Downs area.

About the role
Working in this rewarding role you will be driving the bus and operating an essential and much-loved service for our residents, ensuring our residents from Chinchilla, Miles, Tara and Taroom are provided with regular and safe transport to outings. A friendly sociable personality coupled with empathy and compassion for the elderly will make you a perfect fit for this role.
Some of the tasks of the job will include but not be limited to:
- Providing safe transportation for scheduled outings to residents in a friendly and empathetic manner.
- Loading and unloading the residents' mobility aids and shopping onto the bus.
- Ensuring that residents are picked up and dropped off on time.
- Collaborating with team members in trip preparation and planning.
- Engaging with residents, encouraging and supporting them to engage in the outings.
What will you bring to the role? - Current MR licence and Drivers Authority
- Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- Exceptional people and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously

Southern Cross Care Queensland (SCCQ) is a Catholic not-for-profit organisation established by the Knights of the Southern Cross, more than 40 years ago. They saw a need to provide compassionate care and inclusive service to some of the most vulnerable, the ageing population, in the community.
