About the role
Working in this dual role of a Domestic/Catering Assistant we are seeking someone who is able to carry out general cleaning duties and laundry for our residents as well as assist in preparation of meals at the highest standard in food handling and meal preparation when required. Embodying our values to meet our mission to support people in their choice of health, wellbeing and lifestyle, and our vision to value and respect human life you will have a positive “can-do” attitude along with the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team to deliver these essential services to our residents.
Some responsibilities may include but not be limited to:
- Cleaning resident rooms, common areas and bathrooms to the highest standard.
- Complete cleaning tasks as per schedules and ensure documentation on completion.
- Food handling and preparation.
- Cooking and presentation of food and ensuring on time delivery of quality meals.
- Kitchen cleaning and Maintenance.
- Complying with Workplace Health and Safety & Infection Control policies and procedures at all times.
What will you bring to the role? - Experience working with commercial cleaning services (desired)
- Experience working in an aged care or health-related facility (desired)
- Understanding of safe use of chemicals and cleaning products
- Keen to learn new skills and roles within the Aged Care Home
- An enthusiastic attitude and a commitment to working positively in a team
- Compassion and empathy for the elderly
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- You must be flexible with your availability of days and shift times.
