About the Role:
Southern Cross Care Queensland is seeking a dedicated and experienced Exercise Physiologist to join our team. This position plays a vital role in improving health outcomes for individuals and groups through expert assessment, exercise prescription, and tailored care planning.
You’ll be working across community and residential aged care settings supporting clients with complex needs and delivering personalised programs that promote mobility, independence, and wellbeing.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver high-quality exercise physiology services to clients across aged care and community settings.
- Design, implement, and evaluate individual and group programs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Develop, facilitate and assist with the running of health promotion, rehabilitation and support programs.
- Participate in care planning, case conferences, and health promotion initiatives.
- Conduct assessments and develop tailored rehabilitation and health education programs.
- Supervise Allied Health Assistants to ensure effective delivery of care and achievement of program goals.
- Uphold clinical standards and actively contribute to service development and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring - Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology with ESSA (AEP) accreditation.
- Eligibility for a Medicare provider number.
- Experience supporting clients with complex physical and/or mental health needs.
- Understanding of funding models (e.g. NDIS, Medicare) and related reporting.
- Strong communication, documentation, and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Professional liability insurance (as required for AEPs).
- Australian working rights and current vaccinations per health directives.
