Southern Cross Care QLD have an opportunity for a Gardener to join our SCCQ family at our Caloundra Rise Retirement Estate in Little Mountain on the Sunshine Coast.

About the role
Working as part of our Gardening-Maintenance team, as a Gardener, you will work closely with the Estate Manager and the Head Gardener to ensure the establishment and upkeep of the gardens and grounds within this Retirement Estate. To be successful in this role you will need to be someone who is approachable, reliable and brings enthusiasm and a can-do attitude to your work
.
Tasks may include but not be limited to:
- Horticultural and grounds development, maintenance and monitoring.
- Garden beds re-planting and maintenance to maximise seasonal conditions.
- Pruning of trees and shrubs.
- Lawn mowing, edging, fertilising and weeding.
- Clearing and removal of garden refuse.
- Path, drains and edge repair and maintenance.
- Ensuring that fences and retaining walls are maintained in good repair.
- Undertaking of routine repair work and maintenance within the site.
What will you bring to the role? - Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or related field (highly regarded)
- Previous experience and knowledge in general and commercial maintenance and gardening
- Knowledge of trade resources and suppliers of materials
- Current manual drivers licence
- Exceptional people and interpersonal skills
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate with various stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively
