Following our integration with DCWC, we are experiencing strong national growth. This growth, combined with a strong project pipeline, is driving the need to strengthen our finance capability.

We’re now seeking an experienced Project Accounting Manager to join our Brisbane team and play a key role during this exciting phase.

About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you’ll initially step in as 2IC to the current role holder, before transitioning into full ownership of the project accounting function.

You’ll lead a team of project accounting professionals while partnering closely with Project Managers and operational leaders to ensure strong financial performance across the business.

This role offers a balance of team leadership, technical delivery, and business partnering, with exposure to system integration and process improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing a team of 7 finance professionals (5 direct reports)
• Overseeing and assisting with end-of-month invoicing cycles (high volume, deadline-driven)
• Managing WIP, revenue recognition, and project profitability
• Maintaining project financials, billing schedules, and forecasts
• Preparing monthly reporting, variance analysis, and insights
• Building and maintaining Excel-based financial models
• Partnering with Project Managers to improve financial visibility and decision-making
• Supporting system integration across MYOB Acumatica and BST Global
• Driving process improvement and consistency across project accounting

About You
You’re a confident and capable finance professional ready to step into (or further establish yourself in) a leadership role, with strong project accounting experience and a proactive mindset.

You’ll bring:

• +5 years’ experience in project accounting or finance within project-based environments, as a Senior Project Accountant (or similar), with leadership exposure
• Strong capability across invoicing, WIP, revenue recognition, and cost tracking
• Proven people leadership experience (managing staff)
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling
• Experience with BST Global or similar systems (highly regarded)
• Exposure to system or business integration (desirable)
• Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering skills
• Ability to translate financial data into clear, practical insights
• CA/CPA qualified (or working towards)
