This is a new opportunity for an Estimator/ Senior Estimator to work collaboratively as part of a large, multidisciplinary team based in the Sydney office. The successful candidate will be committed to successful outcomes for our clients, enthusiastic about challenges and committed to continuously learning and developing.
Our Estimators are responsible for developing cost estimates and programs for projects varying in size, complexities, and disciplines.
- Develop first principles estimates across all stages of design and project delivery.
- Prepare strategic cost plans to support concept, feasibility, reference, and detailed design stages.
- Undertake peer reviews of internal and external cost estimates to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Provide independent verification and assurance of cost estimates in line with client requirements.
- Conduct independent estimating to assess and validate contractor and proponent submissions (particularly in ECI / collaborative contracting environments).
- Evaluate and benchmark proponents’ estimates, identifying variances and risks.
- Prepare clear, structured reporting and recommendations for clients and senior stakeholders.
- Attend and actively contribute to meetings with clients, designers, contractors, and stakeholders, providing cost and risk insights.
- Support the development of benchmarking databases, estimating methodologies, and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Liaise with various stakeholders (client side), managing their expectations for project delivery, escalating project issues, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership as appropriate.
Candidate Profile To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience in the civil construction sector (ideally roads sector).
- A great communicator and collaborator.
- A positive attitude with a solutions-focused approach.
- Experience with Pronamics Expert Estimation (preferred) and Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project. Bluebeam and P6 desirable.
- Degree or Diploma qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
