AKPS Project Coordinator or Assistant Project Manager
AKPS is a highly regarded project management consultancy servicing regional NSW & VIC. Established in 2013, AKPS has a broad range of clients from medium to large businesses, multi-national corporations, all levels of government across industries including, food manufacturing, engineering, commercial, health and education. The company has a newly created position for an enthusiastic person, seeking to advance their career in client-side project management.
Requirements for this role:
- 2+ years of construction experience
- 1 – 2 years of contract administration experience
- An aptitude and proven ability to problem solve
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and naturally curious
- Strong attention to detail and a focussed approach to work
- Procore experience (preferred not required)
Typical responsibilities include: - Support the Project Manager with monitoring and updating of a cloud-based project management system including project financials, quality assurance and records, document control and stakeholder communications.
- Support the preparation of project documentation including status, financial and program reports, meeting minutes and tender documentation.
- Support the Project Manager with project delivery including, site meetings, issue resolution between consultants, contractors and clients.
- Support Project Manager with financial management including assessment, reporting, and processing.
- Change management including variation assessments & processing and completion of site defects inspections.
- Support the Project Manager with project meetings with contractors, clients and design consultants.
- Liaise and collaborate with project consulting teams to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Support the Project Manager with procurement services including tender preparations & evaluations, tender management & contract executions.
To be successful in this role, you will have: - Tertiary studies in project management/construction/engineering equivalent or relevant construction industry experience.
- 1-2 years of professional experience.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to embrace challenges and take initiative.
- Ability to solve problems to generate ideas and solutions.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel etc).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.
