About the Role As Head of Learning & Capability, you will be the architect of Hume Bank’s capability framework - designing, delivering and embedding programs that build leadership depth, strengthen workforce capability and support long-term growth.
This is a new, high-impact role reporting to the Chief People Officer. You will lead the design and implementation of the Bank’s enterprise learning, leadership and engagement strategies, ensuring alignment between capability development, succession planning, organisation culture goals and regulatory training obligations.
You will partner closely with leaders and subject-matter experts to create an integrated learning ecosystem - one that empowers employees, drives performance and supports the Bank’s strategic priorities.
In your first months, you will: - Design and deliver a holistic learning, leadership and engagement strategy for the organisation
- Establish clear frameworks for compliance, professional and leadership development
- Implement learning and engagement metrics and analytics to measure program impact and ROI
- Lead end-to-end management of the annual employee engagement survey process, including analysis, action planning and reporting to senior stakeholders
- Introduce career pathways and succession planning aligned with workforce needs
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external providers to deliver scalable learning solutions
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, curiosity and professional growth

Skills We’re Looking For: - Proven experience in organisational learning, capability or leadership development roles
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design and digital learning tools
- Demonstrated experience in managing employee engagement programs, including survey design, analysis and post survey action management
- Demonstrated success in developing learning strategies that support cultural and organisational change
- Commercial acumen and the ability to link capability initiatives to business performance
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret metrics and present insights to stakeholders
- Exceptional stakeholder management, facilitation and influencing skills
- Strong capability, resilience and agility to work autonomously and collaboratively within a small, high-performing team
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint due to high reporting and presentation requirements
