The Scots School Albury invites applications for an outstanding and experienced Human Resources professional to lead HR Function. This is a rare opportunity to join one of regional Australia’s most respected independent schools and shape the future of its growing and dynamic workforce.
As the Head of Human Resources, you will be central to enabling the success of a vibrant Pre-School to Year 12 coeducational day and boarding school located on a beautiful 11-hectare campus in central Albury. Reporting to the Head of Business Operations, this role provides strategic and operational HR leadership across all aspects of workforce management and development.
This is a key leadership position responsible for recruitment, staff development, employee relations, workplace compliance, culture and performance. With 160 years of heritage and a proud reputation for educational excellence, The Scots School Albury offers an exciting and rewarding environment for a proven HR leader who is passionate about supporting staff and strengthening school culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing innovative HR strategies aligned with the School’s vision and values
- Providing expert advice and coaching to leaders on performance management, employee wellbeing and employee relations
- Overseeing the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, contracts and compliance
- Ensuring compliance with relevant workplace legislation, the School’s Enterprise Agreement, child safety obligations and industrial instruments
- Managing workforce policies, procedures, staff development programs and HR metrics
- Supporting cultural initiatives and programs that foster engagement, wellbeing and inclusion
- Leading and advising on workplace investigations and disciplinary processes
About you: - A degree-qualified HR professional with at least five years’ experience in a senior HR role
- Ideally experienced in the education or not-for-profit sector, with sound knowledge of industrial instruments and employee obligations in NSW
- A credible advisor with a collaborative style and ability to build strong relationships across all levels
- Detail-focused with strong organisational skills, resilience and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Knowledgeable in contemporary HR systems, reporting and compliance frameworks
- Committed to the highest standards of integrity, child safety and service excellence

Remuneration: $120,000pa - $140,000pa
