Viridis Ag has partnered with Total HRM to find a hands-on HR Administrator to support their team in Albury.
A day in the life
You kick off your morning with a coffee and a quick check of your inbox. One of the farm managers needs help onboarding a new starter, so you jump into Employment Hero, send out the contract, and make sure their IT set up is logged correctly.
Next, it’s payroll day. You’re reconciling timesheets in Workforce, checking a few entries, and sending a quick message to clarify a missed clock-in. It’s not technical, just needs a sharp eye and a bit of patience with spreadsheets.
Late morning, you’re deep into WGEA data. The spreadsheets are hefty but satisfying when they line up. After lunch, you jump between HR tasks such as uploading visa details, updating the salary tracker or helping prep for performance review season.
Before the day wraps up, you tidy up the HRIS, respond to a few queries, and leave things running smoothly. It’s a practical, people-focused role where you keep things moving and make a real difference to the team on the ground.
What you will own and support
- Coordinating all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including advertising, recruitment, onboarding, induction, performance review tracking, and offboarding using Employment Hero and other systems
- Administering the fortnightly payroll process, including electronic timesheet reconciliations, payroll input, and liaising with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely payment
- Maintaining HR master data across Employment Hero, Xero, Workforce, and internal salary spreadsheets to ensure integrity, accuracy, and version control
- Assisting farm managers and other operational leaders with their weekly and monthly HR tasks such as contract preparation, clothing orders, time and attendance records, and employee changes
- Managing the day-to-day administration of workers' compensation claims by liaising with on-farm supervisors and external insurers to support employees and meet compliance requirements
- Coordinating the administration of annual HR programs, including WGEA reporting, salary reviews, and bonus or incentive tracking
- Producing monthly HR metrics reports to support strategic decision making and track key indicators such as turnover, leave, and compliance
- Liaising directly with our immigration agent to support the timely processing of employer-sponsored visa applications and renewals
- Providing first-level HR system support and guidance to operational teams and escalating system issues as needed
- Managing the company's website content and social media activity related to employment branding, recruitment campaigns, and HR initiatives
Skills we are looking for This is a hands-on role where accuracy, initiative and professionalism matter. To hit the ground running, you will ideally bring:
- A minimum of two years' experience in a similar HR or administrative role, with a practical understanding of HR processes and a strong respect for confidentiality
- Experience using a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) or similar database, with the ability to maintain data accuracy and follow structured processes
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, with confidence in handling documents, templates and data-heavy tasks
