The role: 
Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their busy team. This position is responsible for new business development from current and potential clients that fit and complement their activities, plans, and capabilities globally.

Departmental/Operational Key Responsibilities may include:

• Delivering total freight forwarding solutions to current & prospective clients and cross-selling.
• Development of their freight forwarding portfolio.
• Achieve consistent levels of face-to-face contact with existing and potential customers.
• Participate and assist in the preparation of presentations, quotations, and marketing material.
• Develop new and prospective accounts.
• Develop a pipeline with a number of opportunities defined by the National Sales Manager.
• Respond and follow up on sales inquiries and leads using appropriate methods.

Competencies and Skills required:

• Proven experience identifying new business growth opportunities, with a strategic sales focus.
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Ability to identify where you can bring value to a business.
• Ability to pitch customised solutions that support your client's strategic business objectives.
• Solid understanding of international freight forwarding.
• Being highly engaging, and innovative, and have the ability to find solutions for the customer.
