UP Recruitment has partnered with a growing, high-performing project delivery business to appoint an Intermediate Project Manager to their team.

This is a great opportunity for a Project Manager who wants to get closer to the client, design and construction process, working across a genuinely varied portfolio of projects throughout New Zealand.

You'll join an excellent team that has built its reputation around hands-on project delivery, practical problem solving and challenging the traditional way projects are managed.

The Role
 
You'll work across a range of new build, fit-out and refurbishment projects, typically valued between $1M and $10M.

The project portfolio is varied, with work across:

• Retail stores and rollouts
• Restaurants and hospitality
• Fitness centres and gyms
• Community facilities
• Supermarkets
• Commercial offices

You'll be involved across the full project lifecycle, from early planning and design coordination through procurement, construction and handover.

This is a hands-on PM role. You'll work closely with clients, architects, consultants, contractors and suppliers to keep projects moving, manage risk and make sure the finished product meets the brief.

It's a relatively lean environment, so you'll have genuine visibility and responsibility rather than being one of a large number of PMs sitting within a corporate structure.

You'll work alongside experienced project and construction professionals, while having the autonomy to take ownership of your own projects and develop your client-facing skills.

What You'll Need

• 3–6+ years' project management experience
• Experience delivering commercial construction, fit-out, refurbishment or new build projects
• Ideally projects in the $1M–$10M range
• Contractor-side, client-side or project management consultancy experience
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and contract administration
• Experience coordinating consultants, contractors and subcontractors
• Good understanding of cost, programme, procurement and risk management
• Comfortable working through design development and construction delivery
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Able to work independently and take ownership of projects
• Commercially minded with a practical approach to problem solving
• Someone who is comfortable being hands-on and getting into the detail
• Ideally experience across retail, hospitality, commercial, office, industrial or refurbishment projects

Salary $125,000 – $140,000 + benefits
