Excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with 3 waters, client-side / consultancy experience to join a well established boutique PM firm.
UP Recruitment has partnered with a well-established, boutique project management consultancy to appoint a Senior Project Manager to their Auckland team.
This is a genuine opportunity to join a close-knit and growing consultancy where you'll have significant client exposure, ownership of projects and the opportunity to play a bigger role in the future direction of the business.
With an average employee tenure of 11+ years, this is a business where people build long-term careers rather than simply moving through roles.
The role would suit a Senior PM who enjoys being hands-on, commercially minded and close to the delivery, and who is looking for a genuine pathway into senior leadership.
The Role
You'll join an established consultancy with a strong pipeline of 3 Waters, industrial and commercial projects across Auckland.
You'll take ownership of projects from early-stage advisory and feasibility through design management, procurement, contract administration, construction and handover, working directly with clients, consultants and contractors throughout.
The project portfolio provides a good mix of infrastructure, industrial and commercial work, giving you the opportunity to work across different project environments rather than being restricted to one sector.
You'll be expected to operate as a trusted advisor to clients, manage project teams and consultants, oversee programme, cost and risk, and stay close enough to delivery to identify and resolve issues before they become problems.
This is a consultancy PM role, rather than a purely contractor-side delivery position. You'll have genuine client ownership and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with repeat clients.
The Team
You'll be joining a small, experienced and close-knit team with a strong track record in the New Zealand market.
The business has deliberately maintained a boutique structure, meaning you'll work closely with experienced Directors and senior team members without the layers and bureaucracy often found within larger consultancies.
The culture is collaborative, low-ego and relationship driven, with people staying for the long term - reflected in the team's strong tenure.
