UP Recruitment has partnered with a leading civil construction and infrastructure contractor to appoint a Land Surveyor for major project delivery in Queenstown.
 
This is a standout opportunity to relocate from Auckland or nearby into one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing regions, with full relocation support including transport assistance (company trucks moving equipment and belongings) and accommodation provided in Queenstown for 12+ months.

The Role

As Land Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely surveying services across active civil construction sites. You will play a key role in supporting earthworks, set-out, and as-built deliverables while working closely with engineers, supervisors, and project managers to ensure smooth project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all site-based surveying including set-out, control checks, and as-built surveys
• Produce accurate earthworks cut/fill models and support construction delivery
• Assist in daily planning through provision of survey data and site support
• Maintain accurate survey records, reports, and QA documentation
• Work closely with Site Supervisors, Engineers, and Project Managers
• Interpret design information and translate into practical site application
• Ensure all surveying outputs meet company and project quality standards
• Support continuous improvement in site and survey processes

About You

• Proven experience as a Land Surveyor in civil construction or infrastructure
• Strong competency with modern surveying equipment and software (e.g., Trimble or similar)
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and deliver accurate field execution
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within site-based teams
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment
