UP Recruitment has partnered with a leading infrastructure-focused project management consultancy to appoint a Senior Project Manager for their Wellington team. This is an opportunity to step into a senior leadership role delivering complex, city-shaping infrastructure projects across transportation and civil assets, including highways, rail, water, and tunnels.

The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of multiple infrastructure projects while mentoring project teams and strengthening key client relationships. The position combines hands-on project leadership with strategic input across procurement, commercial management, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Leading delivery teams across transport, water, rail, and civil infrastructure projects
• Managing project lifecycle activities including procurement, contract administration, programme oversight, and financial performance
• Delivering projects valued from $5M to $50M+ across Wellington and surrounding regions
• Developing tailored project management strategies aligned to client objectives
• Supporting tender preparation, proposals, and client engagement initiatives
• Mentoring and guiding junior and intermediate project managers

About You

• Proven experience delivering infrastructure or civil projects (roads, highways, rail, water, or similar)
• Strong capability in procurement, contract administration (NZS3910 / 3916), and commercial management
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing project teams and stakeholders
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills
• Passion for delivering complex infrastructure that makes a lasting impact
