UP Recruitment has partnered exclusively with a leading project management consultancy to appoint a Senior Project Manager to their construction team in Tauranga.
This is an opportunity to step into a senior role in an already high-performing team that has been shaped by a caring and passionate team lead. The team is delivering projects in the $5M – $30M+ range, across education, industrial, and private-sector clients.
The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping project outcomes while mentoring and guiding a capable and ambitious team. The position is hands-on with delivery, while also focused on leadership, quality assurance, and maintaining strong client relationships.
You can expect to oversee multiple live projects at once, supported by clear governance frameworks and established systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading project delivery teams on education, commercial, retail, industrial, and private client portfolios
- Line-managing and mentoring direct staff at 1-6 years of experience level, helping them grow into strong project managers
- Overseeing contract administration (NZS 3910 / 3916), procurement, programme reviews, and financial management including fees, budgets, invoicing, claims, negotiations
- Ensuring consistently high technical standards and strong client outcomes, without heavy business development expectations
