About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Return to Work Coordinator to join our team on a full-time, maximum-term contract for 12 to 24 months, with the length of the contract to be discussed with the successful candidate.

Based in Southbank and supporting a geographically dispersed workforce of approximately 650 employees, this role will support safe, timely and sustainable recovery at work outcomes across the Pentarch Group.  Reporting to the Injury Management & Wellbeing Business Partner, you will coordinate first-line return to work activities including workers compensation claim administration, along with working closely with employees, managers, insurers, rehabilitation providers, and treating practitioners to facilitate timely, safe, and sustainable return to work outcomes.

  
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate first-line return to work activities for injured employees across Pentarch operations, including assisting with the development of suitable duties and graduated return to work plans;
• Liaise with employees, managers, insurers, rehabilitation providers and treating practitioners regarding injured employee’s capacity for employment, medical restrictions and facilitating return to work arrangements;
• Assist with workers compensation documentation, correspondence, accurate record keeping and routine reporting;
• Identify barriers, concerns, or emerging risks that may impact recovery at work and escalate complex, sensitive, disputed or high-risk matters as required;
• Provide practical first-line guidance to managers and employees and support manager education or improvement opportunities where required.
  
  
  

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Previous experience in a return-to-work coordination, workers compensation administration or injury management support role;
• Return to Work accreditation, training, or equivalent competency relevant to an Australian jurisdiction, or the ability to obtain this within an agreed timeframe;
• A practical understanding of workers compensation and return to work obligations across Australian jurisdictions;
• Ability to interpret Certificates of Capacity, medical restrictions and functional capacity information to support effective return to work planning;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships;
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial or other high-risk work environment is highly desirable.
