We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and manage plant operations at our Narrogin hay processing site in Western Australia. This role will ensure the site operates safely, efficiently and in line with production, quality and financial targets.
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will oversee our day-to-day operations, coordinate production activities, and ensure plant, equipment and systems are effectively utilised and maintained to support consistent output and product quality.
This is a Permanent, Full-time position based on site at Narrogin, which will play a key part in leading the production team, driving performance, supporting capability development and contributing to continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Providing strong leadership to the production team, including driving a culture of development by embedding improvement practices, supporting capability uplift, and ensuring initiatives align to site objectives.
- Addressing any performance or disciplinary matters in a timely manner, recruitment planning and activities, and supporting with employment and industrial relations issues.
- Leading production to achieve targets and supporting the implementation of the site operational plan, ensuring process efficiency and product quality standards are met.
- Providing oversight of the preventative maintenance program, ensuring maintenance activities are aligned to production plans and downtime risks are proactively managed.
- Safety compliance, including driving a strong safety culture by promoting hazard identification and risk control.
- Ensuring all employees and contractors comply with relevant WHS legislation, policy, procedures and take all reasonable steps to eliminate physical and psychological risks.
- Collate production data including labour utilisation, overtime and production costs and review monthly profit and loss results for production operations.
About You:
You are a hands-on operational leader who thrives in industrial environments and is comfortable balancing safety, people and production. You bring:
- A substantial track records of production leadership experience, preferably within agribusiness, manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
- Strong organisational and people management skills and a demonstrated ability to successfully lead a team.
- An understanding of hay or straw production is highly advantageous.
- Practical experience in production planning and scheduling with a proven track record of successful planning to effectively meet business objectives and deadlines.
- A certificate IV in Agriculture (or similar) is desirable.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
