About the position:
We have an exciting position available for a Technical Services Officer who will play a key part in our on-site operations and use their technical expertise to provide support to assist with ongoing business operations and organisational goals. This is a Permanent full time position in based at our site at Edrom Road, Eden working Monday to Friday.
*Please note, due to the nature of this role, work may be required outside of normal working hours and travel may be required on occasion*
As a Technical Services Officer, you’ll play a vital role in testing, installing, maintaining and repairing various technology solutions across our Eden site. The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of equipment at our site including;
- Security installations (Uniview cameras and NVR’s),
- Weighbridge
- Fibre systems (Including fibreoptic and telecoms cabling)
- Data Systems (Azure/SQL Server)
- HMI (Scanners, computers, telecoms devices)
We’re looking for someone with strong technical expertise who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a knack for juggling multiple priorities. Strong communication skills are required as you will Report into the Site Manager, being a key point of contact on-site, but will regularly collaborate with the broader TIS (Technology and Information Systems) Team with a dotted reporting line to the Group General Manager of Technology and Information Systems.
Your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to: - Sourcing, Installing, maintaining, repairing and replacing equipment.
- Assist with electro-mechanical fault finding on our production equipment.
- Design and implement infrastructure solutions to optimise system performance as well as working on system upgrades, future technology adoption and integration projects.
- Manage and update databases including, but not limited to, Clarion database and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) for manufacturing processes.
- Monitor and report on inventory and stock management solutions.
- Manage weighbridge maintenance and make operational decisions regarding shutdowns.
- Oversee fuel and weighbridge certifications.
- Provide onsite IT support alongside the broader ICT Team and apply problem-solving skills to address issues promptly
To be considered for this fantastic opportunity, you must have the following: - Previous experience in IT and technical support, with a focus on troubleshooting, hardware, software and networks is essential.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of windows-based environments. (Microsoft365 & Microsoft defender highly preferred).
- Proven ability to install, maintain and repair fibre including cabling as well as data, and security systemsis essential.
- A background knowledge of Unify equipment / Firewalls / Connectivity checks / Clarion Databases / HALO is advantageous.
- A background working in a manufacturing environment in an IT role is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively address inquiries and provide accurate information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to successfully manage and prioritise workloads and manage time efficiently.
